Design of a Multi-Channel Full-Polarimetric SFCW GPR Experimental System

Abstract
This manuscript describes the design and preliminary tests of an experimental full-polarimetric multistatic GPR system. The requirements of such a system seem more adapted to frequency modulation instead of time domain, that is prevalent for these radar sensors. The operational bandwidth of the sensor lies between 0.4 GHz and 6 GHz, defining this sensor as ultrawideband. From the design a maximum of 144 measurement channels can be achieved using 6 dual-polarimetric antennas with a total of 12-physical ports. The system was thought as a modular concept; therefore, all components are flexible for being used in different configurations.
