Die Simulationsanlagen für Luftstoßwellen auf dem Versuchsplatz Wintersweiler
Abstract
The testfield for blast- and shockwaves is situated 45 km in the south of Freiburg near the little village Wintersweiler. An old quarry is used for this purpose. There are the simulation facilities for blast- and shockwaves which cannot operate in Freiburg on account of their geometric dimensions. Blast- and shockwaves created by spontaneous energy conversion spread spherically from their source in the surrounding space and hit each substance -normally a building being in this space interacting with it. It is one of the research items of the institute on this field to study these interactions and to find conclusions about it. According to the goal the main interest is either on the destruction (putting out off function, resp.) of the hit object or on its preservation, i.d. the protection is importent. This second aspect is placed into the foreground. Therefore the aim is to find convenient civilengineering means to protect the health, the live or the goods of men against the action of blastwaves. Those means for protection are buildings, structures, shelters etc. Depending on the problem there are to consider parts of them, like wall- and ceiling-sections, doors, windows, ventilation systems or on the other hand the objects in their totality, if one wants to know the pressure field caused by these waves, for example. Accordingly the interaction of the waves are simulated at prototypes or at scaled models. In some cases it is even of more advantage to prefer simulation methods for studying the really acting event. That is the reason why there are installed several simulation facilities on the testfield like the Equal Shocktube, Pressure Shock Chamber, High Pressure Shocktube etc. All these facilities and their range in pressure, pressure-duration and geometry are decribed in the report as far as the dates are available.
