Mechatronic System Techniques for Robots for Service Application Systems

Other Title
Mechantronische Systementwicklung für ServiceRoboter-Systeme
Abstract
Robots are considered a typical representative of mechatronics which integrate aspects of manipulation, mobility, sensing, control and coordination. A broad spectrum of service job opportunities herald a robotics renaissance: service robots. However the main challenge in a future diffusion of service robots depends on mastering development and system costs, safety and user acceptance. Examples of first successful designs are given in an overview of existing service robot applications. Current methods and tools for a mechatronic design of service robot applications are explained. Their application is demonstrated in two case studies on the design of mobile robot plattform and a refuelling robot.
