Discussion about dome standard

This article is an open discussion about dome standard. The idea is to explain the status of the dome standard in an ecosystem growing and becoming more stable every day. Over the years the process of bringing content to the dome has been improved such that it is easier to use this immersive environment for other purposes than stars projection as in planetarium. The comments reported here emanates from a group member developing software solution to control and run dome installations. By his position the author is located at the cross road where content makers, distributers and dome owners meet and is well aware of the communication issues between the different actors and therefore the interest of having clear standards or specifications.
