Einführung innovativer Produktionstechniken. Stand und Dynamik der techniken im Trend

Investments in machinery, plant and information technology have a permanently high degree of significance for the modernization of production operations, even if a majority of businesses still see their priority in the area of organizational measures. The spreading of innovative production technologies nevertheless takes place at highly differing paces. In this context the user ought to keep a close eye on the situation in terms of retaining competitiveness by way of new processes and procedures. This article evaluates data arising from a representative survey on the part of the Fraunhofer Institute for System Technology and Innovation Research (ISI) and entitled "Innovations in production" in the interests of being able to appraise the status and pace of the introduction of new production technologies among capital goods manufacturers in Germany. Besides this, the article introduces an approach for classifying new production technologies in terms of the pace at which t hey spread, from "Future standard technologies" to "Dynamic special technologies".
