Title

Data Analysis from Legacy HMI Systems with Flexible In-Line Image Processing

Abstract
In the evolving landscape of modern manufacturing, the ability to harness and effectively analyze data from equipment is essential to gain comprehensive insights into various processes and their direct influence on output quality. However, legacy manufacturing equipment, still crucial to many production lines, presents several challenges to this ambition. It often lacks the ability to digitally capture and store data. This lack of a digital interface complicates data extraction and subsequent analysis. The multifaceted challenges are addressed by our approach to conceptualize and craft a system that is able to extracting installation data from legacy manufacturing equipment. This paper presents an experimental framework to systematically investigate the conditions requisite for the system's optimal performance, laying the groundwork for its successful deployment in real-world manufacturing environments.
