Title
Novel MOS based sensor system for detection of dissolved hydrogen in transformer oils
Abstract
Electrical and thermal over loading of oil filed transformers results in the generation of disolved combustible gase in the oil. This release of H2, CO and hydrocarbons from the oil is an early indication of a fault. In this work, we present a system based on a MOS sensor element for selective online hydrogen detection in transformer oil. The sensor element is based on a standard MOS capacitor with a catalytic metal electrode.
