IRIS - Dialoggestaltung für interaktive wissensgestützte Bildauswertung

Image interpretation in the military application is a complex task. There a many different targets in different contexts and different views. The ability of the human interpreter to recognize forms and structures can be supported by an interactive, knowledge-based system. This paper describes an approach for an interactive system for image interpretation "IRIS - Interactive Reconnaissance and Interpretation System". IRIS consists of three parts: a knowledge-based system associated with the military target category "electronic installation", an object oriented image processing system for image enhancement and image restauration and a computer aided reporting system.
