Title

Multi-Dimensional Airborne SAR Imaging at 94 GHz

Abstract
In this paper we present multi-dimensional SAR measurements performed with the Fraunhofer FHR MIRANDA-94 system. MIRANDA-94 is a beam-stabilized multichannel frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar with up to 3 GHz radar bandwidth at 94 GHz center frequency with a dual polarized receive antenna. In this paper we focus on high resolution multi-aspect and multi-polarization data acquired on linear and circular trajectories. Our analysis showed, that the information about objects can be enhanced and that the aspect angle at which a target is illuminated has a strong influence on the backscattered radiation. In addition, circular SAR (CSAR) allows the fusion of different aspect angles in one imaging process and thus the indication of near-time changes and the replacement of shadow areas with information from other aspect angles.
