New production strategies for automotive industries

Increasingly, production strategies such as Build-to-Order (BtO) are applied to enhance the flexibility of production networks in automotive industries. Customise-to-Order (CtO) is a promising approach to avoid the efforts involved in coordination and control that result from BtO. Research and development to bring CtO to life is being carried out in the EU-funded project "Automotive Chassis Development for 5-Days Cars" (ACDC).
