Experimentelle und numerische Untersuchungen zur Erweiterung der Prozessgrenzen beim Clinchen

Abstract
The Clinching process (DIN 8593) produces a button-type, positive connection of two or three layers of sheet metal using a cold-forming process. At the moment in industrial applications clinching is being applied for single sheet thicknesses of 0.1 mm up to a total layer thickness of 12 mm. The aim of this Diplomarbeit was to expand the clinching process limits up to larger total layer thicknesses. Employing numerical and experimental studies new tool dimensions were created and experimentally verified.
