Safety and quality aspects of nanomaterials production an handling

The question of nano safety is one of the big challenges for the production of nano particles and their further processing. The department of Ultraclean Technologies and Microproduction at Fraunhofer IPA with its experiences in particle measurements, clean room and cleaning technologies will bring in this knowledge into the nano technology and production. In this talk we will present new approaches to control the production environment and the product quality using fast optical measurement techniques and adapted cleanliness aspects. The aim of this work is to combine topics of nano safety and nano quality to a common understanding of nano trust. Furthermore we will introduce our involvement in the NANOfutures activities and the MINAM Association to support and focus European nano research.
