Title
Orally administered cyclosporine-A improves red blood cell velocity in capillaries of conscious SD-rats
Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate red blood cell velocity (Very; flying spot technique) and diameters of capillaries (Ocap, angiometer or ruler) of conscious rats after orally administered Cyclosporine-A (CyA). From other experiments (aortic ring preparations) with our rats we know that alpha1-adrenergic vasoconstriction is enhanced and endothelium-dependent as well as endothelium-independent vascular relaxation are depressed; thus we conclude, that the increase of Very after CyA treatment reflects an enhanced vascular tone in the precapillary arterial system.
