Herstellung titankarbidhaltiger Verschleißschichten durch Laserbestrahlung vorbeschichteter Stahloberflächen

Abstract
By means of the two-step coating process, wear resistant layersare produced on different steel substrates, consisting of a steelmatrix with embedded hard particles on TiC base. The coating process has been realized by the screen printing method and a following laser treatment mainly using the scanning technology. If fine grained powders are applied to the screen printing process, a very fine dispersed microstructure with a high TiC content up to 50 vol-% TiC can be produced. The thickness of layers is 0.2 - 0.5 mm.Because of the high hardness and wear resistance of these protecting layers an essential increase of the lifetime of tools orcomponent parts can be expected.
