Integrated electro-optical switching with phase-modified liquid crystal blends

Liquid crystal-oil-blends with modified nematic-isotropic transition temperatures were developed for electro-optical waveguides. Microsecond, low loss switching is demonstrated on devices designed to include such waveguides. These devices are operable at room temperature.
