Titel
Demonstration of coloured noise and signal distortions in baseband spectra of broadband optical transmission systems
Abstract
Signal distortions and noise properties of an optical broadband transmission system are demonstrated by means of their baseband spectral response. Depending on the bias conditions of the laser, the coupling conditions between laser and transmission fiber, and polarization depending devices, the interaction of the laser modes and the wave propagation behaviour of the single mode fiber can lead to strong coloured noise or signal distortions.
