Abstract
Laser fusion cutting of non-oriented electrical steel laminations for electrical machine applications has been investigated basically for decades but with insufficient progress regarding its industrial applicability and selection of the right beam source for the right application. Within this contribution, laser cutting of electrical sheet metal applying various beam sources with regard to magnetic property deterioration and resulting effect on final field of application is compared with conventional manufacturing.
