Titel
The high temperature strength of C/C and C/C-SIC composites under shear loading
Abstract
In this paper the influence of the temperature on the shear strength of a C/C-SiC composite is studied and compared with two C/C materials. The Interlaminar Shear Strength (ILSS) was measured in the range from room temperature up to 2000 C under inert gas atmosphere using a compression shear test. With increasing temperature the shear strengths of all materials increase. However, in each case the values of C/C-SiC were significantly higher than those of C/C.
