Communication design considerations for M2M applications

M2M communication is the foundation for the Internet of Things (IoT). In many cases IoT devices are connected to the Internet over cellular networks. But M2M applications and protocols are often not adapted to the specific properties of the radio link. So this paper will give hints and suggestions about the facts which should be considered carefully when design M2M applications and protocols.
