Space-Division Multiplexed Transmission in Deployed Fibers

Abstract
This work reviews six years of experience with the world's first fiber-optic infrastructure for space-division multiplexed (SDM) transmission. Deployed and expanding in the Italian city of L'Aquila, this unique infrastructure catalyzes global SDM research.
