Catalytic methanol steam reforming

Abstract
Methanol receives increasing interest as future energy carrier for distributed and mobile power generation, because it can be produced via sustainable routes and has a high storage stability and energy density when compared with liquefied or compressed hydrogen. When treated by reforming technology, it serves as a hydrogen source for fuel cells (Kolb 2008). Methanol is converted to hydrogen-containing reformate by endothermic steam reforming (STR) (Kolb 2008) as shown in Eq. 1
