Title

Intelligent Work Stress Monitoring

Title Supplement
Prevention of work-related stress with the help of physiological data measured by a sensor wristband
Abstract
Mental and physical demands at work entail considerable risks for both employees and the company itself. On the one hand, permanent stress at work can lead to health problems of employees in the longterm. On the other hand, on the part of the company, the frequency of errors in processes or absenteeism of employees can increase and thus lead to high costs for the company. As a result of growing globalisation and flexibility of labour markets, especially the logistics sector is increasingly gaining importance. One essential process and a central function in the field of logistics is order picking. The efficiency of order picking systems depends to a large extent on employee's performance. Regarding rising digitisation, new forms of information and communication technologies arise to assist the workforce. This article describes an approach that uses digital permeation in the industrial sector to identify and respond to individual work-related stress situations early on. The aim is to optimise work systems and technical assistance systems for better and long-lasting health, work ability and job performance of employees.
