Evaluation of the existing and forthcoming mobile infrastructure

The objective of this Deliverable is to evaluate the mobile infrastructure in general and in regard to its applicability for multimedia data handling. Both existing and emerging technologies will be taken into consideration. Therefore, a technical analysis of wireless networks, wireless communication protocols, telecommunication services and mobile data terminals is conducted. Based on these analyses the specific characteristics (i. e., shortcomings) of the evaluated technologies will be identified and discussed in regard to problems to be solved.
