Title

Analysis of Deformation-Induced Microstructure using Positron Annihilation: Dislocations and Vacancies in Nickel and Steel

Abstract
Positron annihilation lifetime (PAL) spectroscopy is used to study the concentration of vacancies, vacancy clusters and dislocations as a function of strain during tensile straining of austentic steel. The annealing of defects in cold-rolled nickel and diluted NiSb alloys is also studied. Furthermore, the general ideas of studying defects with positrons are briefly described.
