Title

Targeted Advancements in UHR Diffraction Imaging for Object Detection: Recent Processing Developments

Abstract
This paper presents targeted advancements in UHR seismic diffraction imaging aimed at improving object detection in complex geological settings. Building on a dedicated acquisition system and tailored processing designed for diffraction recording, the study focuses on enhancing stacking techniques in the Common-Fault-Point (CFP) domain. Using finite-difference acoustic simulations of two synthetic models, we demonstrate that median-filtered CFP stacking significantly boosts the visibility of weak diffractions from buried boulders while suppressing reflection noise. These results highlight the method's potential for improved UXO detection and object localization and mark a step forward in refining the diffraction imaging framework.
