Der Chloridgehalt im Holz als Indikator für das Vorkommen des Echten Hausschwammes, Serpula lacrimans

The real dry rot -serpula lacrimans- occurred with increasing frequency in the central countries of Germany. In the areas near the coast mainly gloeophyllume species were observed. Comparative investigations on selected objects revealed a dependence between the distance from the coast, the chloride content of the wood and the occurrence of the individual fungi species. These observances were confirmed by laboratory tests.
