Title

The use of input-response measurements as a basis for modelling the residence time distribution of microreactors

Abstract
The use of input-response measurements as a basis for modeling the residence time distribution (RTD) of microreactors was discussed. A dye tracer in injected into the constant flow of a pure solvent and immediately monitored by a two-point spectroscopic method at the inlet and the outlet of the reactor. Spectroscopic flow cells were developed to make sure that the flow inside of the capillaries was not disturbed by microfluidic devices. The results show that RTD of different devices can be obtained with a high accuracy and good repeatability.
