Noise immunity of DVB-H reception

DVB-H (digital video broadcasting-handheld) allows the transmission of broadcast services for reception in the UHF and VHF bands via mobile phones and other small battery-powered devices. Measurements of the interference level in these broadcast bands show significant levels of man-made interference. This article presents a noise-immunity analysis of the DVB-H system, looking in particular at impulse noise which is known to possibly cause short-term receiver dropouts.
