Laserinduzierte Modifikationen an Holzoberflächen

This contribution presents first results of thorough investigations concerning the effect of laser irradiation on wood. It has been found that the structure of a surface layer can be modified in a definite way by suitable choosing the irradiation parameters. The possible modifications cover the range from laying bare the cellular structure to sealing the surface by melting and solidification of a surface layer. First applicable examples of these effects are given along with an outlock onto prospective applications.
