Influence of optical feedback on the baseband spectra of a fiber-optical Gbit/s-transmission system

Describes one effect of optical feedback measured in the baseband of an optical transmission system which deteriorates the bit error rate BER. It is shown that noise enhancement due to the optical feedback can be reduced under certain circumstances by an appropriate electronic filter circuit.
