Bearbeitung von Keramik durch Mikro-EDM

This work aims to provide a fundamental insight into the electro discharge machining of ceramics. It gives an overview of previous research results such as different material removal mechanisms or the impact of the EDM-process on the material properties. The machining of electrical conductive ceramics is characterized by the material removal, the electrode wear and smallest possible structural dimensions. The process gets optimized towards a high material removal. Furthermore the possibility of machining electrical non-conductive ceramics is investigated and characterized by the abovementioned machining properties.
