Title

An investigation of micro-machining parameters for fabrication ear-implants from titanium

Abstract
Medical implant applications require three-dimensional micro-scale parts made from biocompatible materials. Mechanical micro-machining is an effective technique for fabricating such parts with high accuracy. However, there is a lack of experience in selecting the micro-machining parameters for given dimensional accuracy and quality requirements. In this paper, a study on micromachinability of commercially pure (grade 2) titanium (unalloyed) is presented. The effect of process parameters on the process output is investigated by machining channels with different machining parameters.
