Title

The concept of overall equipment effectiveness to control manufacturing performance

Abstract
The paper presents an approach to evaluate manufacturing systems by the analysis of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). The OEE can be used as a classification figure for manufacturing losses. The paper describes how to extend this approach to complex systems and how it can be integrated into modern simulation tools. By this the OEE can serve as a "radar system" to monitor manufacturing performance.
