Modelling information and materials flow for layout planning. Typical of modern production systems is the growing number of production variations, the increasing degree of automation, and the integration of materials and information flow. More and more solution alternatives have to be developed and evaluated. The demands placed on the system often change. For this reason, a modelling system was developed whose function is described in this article.
