CO2-lasers for industrial materials processing

The driving force of the laser-development being outlined in the following is given by the interaction phenomena of laser radiation and matter such as surface and plasma absorption, heat conduction, melt dynamics and plasma formation. As a guiding example for the different types of processing (cutting, welding, surface treatment etc.), welding with CO2-laser radiation will be used in the following.
