Photovoltaic-hybrid systems for 5 remote sites in the German alps

This paper describes the technical data and operational results of 5 PV-Hybrid Systems in the German Alps. The aim of these projects is to show that PV-Hybrid Systems offer a reliable and economical solution for reducing the energy consumption and pollution in a mountainous environment in Central Europe. The range of the system size varies between 900 Wp to 5.4 kWp. At one site a wind-generator is employed for the back up power source.
