Innovation in the internet of services

The TEXO project, one of the six application scenarios of the THESEUS research program, aims at developing an infrastructure for the Internet of Services, which builds upon three basic paradigms i) Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), ii) Semantic Web, and iii) Web 2.0. We suggest that software tools that support the service innovation method should make use of these three aspects to be successfully deployed and used within the Internet of Services. In this paper, we discuss key-characteristics of electronic services and their implications regarding the service innovation process. We introduce the service innovation framework developed and applied in the TEXO project and describe the software tools that support the framework.
