Application scenarios and economic evaluation of service robots assisting care workers in residential care facilities

In the near future a limited number of care workers will have to care for an increasing number of elderly people. One way to ease this situation is to apply service robots in elderly care facilities to take over repetitive and demanding routine tasks. Based on different user studies the demand of the care workers for support was identified and analyzed from a technical as well as an economical viewpoint.
