Title
Extrusion of Aqueous-Plasticized LiFePO4 Foils as an Environment-Friendlier Alternative to Casting for the Industrial Production of Li-Ion Battery Electrodes. Part 1: Material Qualification and Foil Extrusion
Abstract
With reference to the practical example of Li-ion battery electrodes, this paper addresses the fundamental question of which benefits especially aqueous extrusion of ceramic foils has compared with the proven and advanced casting process. In a sequential research process at the IKTS Hermsdorf in collaboration with ECT-KEMA, theoretical and empirical work was realised in the scope of the HEADLINE project, to verify these benefits. LiFePO4 foils were extruded by means of aqueous plasticization with a thickness of 300 µm without substrate film
