Titel

Today's and tomorrow's techniques for the visualization of numerically generated flow data

Abstract
This papers presents an overview of techniques for the visualization of numerically generated flow data like such from Finite Element simulations. The concept of scientific visualization is explained for the application of flow data with an emphasis on interactive vector field visualization techniques. Today's - and even more tomorrow's - simulations are characterized by an extreme amount of output data as well as by three-dimensional flow domains with transient multi-dimensional result data like velocity, temperature, pressure and others. An efficient analysis of such data is supported by modern interaction and display devices. The devices and their application in flow visualization are also introduced in this article.
