Abstract
In the scope of a research and development project, a component-based, configurable software for a flexible scheduling tool in high-tech industries is developed. This scheduling tool is capable of being adapted to different production environment with their specific requirements and specifications. In this paper, an overview of the design of the software is provided. There are different components designed for the software which perform before and after scheduling tasks, as well as a component to do the core schedule calculation task and is called "CoreScheduler". A closer look to the CoreScheduler component is also presented in this paper.
