Title
Mehrenergieradioskopie - ein Durchstrahlungsverfahren zur Werkstoffcharakterisierung
Abstract
The extinction coefficient of X-radiation depends on the energy of the X-ray photons and on the atomic number of the material. By varying the acceleration voltage in theX-ray tube the X-ray spectrum can be modified in a definite way. If a tested object is imaged by using different accerleration voltages the resulting images can be combined and information about the material can be gained. The idea of this procedure is that in addition to the test object a stepwedge of a known material is imaged at three different X-ray energies. By combining the three resulting images a true color image can be obtained. The color gives information about the atomic number of the unknown material.
