Titel

Flight Stability of EFP with Star Shaped Tail

Alternative
Flugstabilität von sprenggeformten Projektilen mit definierter Heckfaltung.
Abstract
Development work in the field of EFP charge technology has been oriented in the eighties to forming a compact projectile with sufficient stability in flight to prevent projectile inclination at the target. This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation of the influence of the projectile shape on the flight stability of explosively formed projectiles. In order to make quite sure that the projectile shows no asymmetries in the flared tail, a new technique was developed to form projectiles with "star shaped tail".
