Title

Mechanism of electroless nickel deposition and its utilization in expert system

Abstract
A general mechanism for surface catalyzed electroless metal deposition is outlined and discussed with regard to its application to electroless nickel plating. The complex relationship of this process is classified by appropriate rules in order to assemble the knowledge for an expert system. A fundamental pathway to the expert system is given by means of a novel mechanism which is characterized by the interaction between the surface and the reducing agent (SRI theory), a mechanism-based model, a rule-based model and the rule designing step.
