Use of industrial robots in machining

Abstract
Industrial robots provide an economic alternative to conventional CNC machine tools in the machining processes. However, the dynamic and static stiffness properties of the industrial robot result in displacement and vibration excitation of the robot kinematics, which is associated with machining inaccuracy. The present article summarizes the current approaches to improving the machining accuracy of industrial robots.
