Abstract
Simulations can support the development processes of individualized spring-applied brakes. Hence, the different physical effects that interact with each other are a challenging problem. This article describes an approach for the simulation of the switching behavior of spring-applied brakes, considering electrics, magnetics, mechanics, thermics and thermodilatation in a common model. An experimental validation proves the validity of the model.
