Fluessigkristallmischungen fuer energiesparende Displays

(A1) Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Verwendung eines chiralen Dotierstoffs mit einer HTPw von mindestens 22 µm-1 als Zusatz zu einer nematischen Grundmischung, aus der mit diesem Zusatz eine cholesterische Fluessigkristallmischung entsteht, zur Verringerung der elektrischen Schaltfelder eines mit der genannten Fluessigkristallmischung befuellten, bistabilen Displays auf nicht mehr als etwa 3 V/m fuer die Umschaltung von der planaren in die fokal-konische Textur und nicht mehr als etwa 5,5 V/m fuer die Umschaltung von der fokal-konischen in die planare Textur, bezogen auf das Anlegen einer bipolaren Rechteckspannung von 15 Hz an die leitfaehigen Seitenwaende des Displays.
