Title
Other Title
Determination of presence or absence of proteins, at measurement points on a biochip surface, they are exposed to electromagnetic radiation as an excitation light for their intrinsic fluorescence to be detected.
Abstract

EP 1281969 A UPAB: 20030522 NOVELTY - To determine the presence or absence of at least one polypeptide/protein, at least at one measurement point (10) on a reaction carrier, the sample is exposed to an electromagnetic radiation as excitation light, to excite the intrinsic fluorescence of the polypeptide/protein. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - To determine the presence or absence of at least one polypeptide/protein, at least at one measurement point (10) on a reaction carrier, the sample is exposed to an electromagnetic radiation as excitation light, to excite the intrinsic fluorescence of the polypeptide/protein. The reaction carrier is a biochip (1), with recessed wells as a micro-titration plate. The light has a wavelength of 270-290 nm, and preferably 280 nm, using a laser. The fluorescence is measured by an optical detector. USE - The technique is for use in the analysis of proteins. ADVANTAGE - The proteins can be analyzed using chip technology, with a high sensitivity, in a simple operation, with high local resolution of the proteins to be studied in the native conformation.
