Title
Dielektrischer Motor
Other Title
Dielectric motor
Abstract
This invention relates to motors whose torque is not generated by magnetic fields but by dielectric forces. Fields of application are microelectronics and micromechanics. The rotors comprise several dielectrics which are arranged in a sector or discoid pattern and envelop each other partially or completely. These motors can be miniaturized to a size in the order of just a few microns. Their features include slow to medium rotary speeds, a short startup phase (in microsecond range and below), extremely low power consumption, simple design, high running constancy. They also require virtually no maintenance. Their rotation characteristic (rotation as a function of field frequency) can be freely selected across broad bands by adjustment of the rotor dielectrics.
