Apparatus and method for efficient state determination and localisation between mobile platforms

Abstract
The invention relates to a system for determination the position of a mobile user device (10). The system comprises a state determination device (120), comprising a transmitting unit (122) and a state determination unit (124), and the mobile user device (110), comprising a receiving unit (112) and a processor unit (114). The mobile user device (110) and the state determination device (120) are separated physically from each other. The state determination unit (124) of the stated determination device (120) is designed to ascertain a state of the state determination device (120) which depends on the position of the state determination device (120) or on a movement of the state determination device (120). Furthermore, the transmitting unit (122) of the state determination device (120) is designed to transmit state data to the receiving unit (112) of the mobile user device (110), wherein the state data depends on the state of the state determination device (120), which has been ascertained by the state determination unit (124). In addition, the receiving unit (112) of the mobile user device (110) is designed to receive the state data from the transmitting unit (122) of the state determination device (120). The processor unit (114) of the mobile user device (110) is designed to estimate the position of the mobile user device (110), wherein the processing unit (114) of the mobile user device (110) is designed to use the state data to estimate the position of the mobile user device (110).
